Assess Your Goals Weekly Recap

In Daily Devotional by Mauricio Rosa

Theme of the Week: Assess Your Goals

Bible Verse: “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2, ESV

Scripture Reading: Romans 8:1-39

Being intentional about your time of rest is very important. As the Cheshire cat answered Alice in Wonderland – if you don’t know where to go, any path is right. Likewise, if you don’t plan, nothing good will come out of that.

Taking time off is essential, and here are the things we discussed as you assess your life and your goals:

Stop and Reflect:

Make sure you set time aside to reflect and ponder about your life: your faith, purpose, and meaning in life. Don’t be afraid to see things that may look ugly. Jesus took the cross, fully aware of our ugliness, and he didn’t step down.

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8 ESV

Remember and Reflect:

All of us can relate to Jacob in one way or another. Don’t lose heart. God knows you, and he is waiting for you to recognize who you are, and to come to him as you are.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Reflect and Anticipate:

Have you ever wondered what God has planned for you? Have you ever considered that even if you have the best dream for your life, if you knew what God has in store for you, that would be what you would have asked him?

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

A Glimpse of What is Worth Waiting For:

Finally, we can trust the One who claims to be the beginning and end of all things. Imagine a good, perfect and all-powerful God: Who or what can stop him from truly giving you the best out of life?

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Revelation 22:13
