He Is Risen

In Daily Devotional by Scott Roberts

Bible Passage: “He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.” (Matthew 28:6a ESV)

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:1-22

You may think that the resurrection of Jesus is a part of the Easter story or something we only talk about around springtime. It’s a lot more than that.

The resurrection is the very center of our Christian faith.

If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, then Christianity falls apart.

But if He did, then it changes everything.

After He died on the Cross, Jesus didn’t stay in the grave. On the third day, He rose up in power. His heart beat once again. His lungs filled with air. The stone rolled away, and death was defeated.

Brothers, this matters for you.

It means your sins really are paid for. The resurrection is the “receipt” that proves the payment was accepted.

It means Jesus truly is who He claimed to be: God in the flesh, Lord over all, the only Saviour, and you can trust Him.

It means you don’t have to fear death. Passing away from this world is not the end. It’s just a doorway for those who belong to Christ.

It also means you can walk in newness of life right now. Men, did you know that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you through the Holy Spirit? You’re not the same man you used to be. You’ve been transformed. You have been raised with Christ, and that means sin doesn’t get the last word.

When life hits hard and hope feels distant, remember this: Jesus lives!

And because He lives, you can victoriously face whatever tomorrow holds. You can lead your family, fight temptation, serve others, and keep going when you feel like quitting.

You have a living Saviour, and that makes you a man with a living hope.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for conquering the grave and giving me new life! Help me live today in the power of Your resurrection. Remind me that because You live, I have nothing to fear. Amen.

Reflection: How has the resurrection of Jesus affected your life? What does it mean for how you live as a man in this world?
