God Did What He Said He Would Do

In Daily Devotional by Kyvenz Amédée

Theme of the Week: How The Impossible Happened

Bible Verse: “I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” Genesis 3:15, CSB

Scripture Reading: Galatians 3:10-18

Jesus said it plainly: Nothing is impossible for God.

Now, there are things that God cannot do, and lying is one of them. Yes, the Creator of all things simply can’t lie. Not only does he always tell the truth, he actually is the truth. So when God promises something, he does it:

  • When he said in the garden of Eden that the woman’s offspring (Jesus) would crush the head of the serpent, the first humans could take it to the bank! (Genesis 3:15)
  • When he told Abraham that his seed (singular, not plural — he was talking about Christ) would be blessed, the father of faith could cash in on it. (Galatians 3:16)
  • When he sent an angel to tell Mary that she would give birth to the Savior of the world, even though she had no clue at first how that could be done, that’s exactly what happened! (Luke 1:30-34)

God doesn’t keep some promises – he keeps ALL his promises, even if they sound plain impossible. Jesus is the miracle gift God had promised us from the moment humanity found itself in trouble. He did not let us down, so today, we get to rejoice and celebrate the coming of the newborn King. Every time you hear the name Jesus, be reminded of this:

“God is not a man, that he might lie,
or a son of man, that he might change his mind.
Does he speak and not act,
or promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19, CSB)
