Jordan Feliz returns with Say It, his fourth studio album in just five years.

The former heavy metal singer has continued to find his new voice as a Christian pop artist after embracing a more soulful, R&B sound.

The album kicks off with the urgent and upbeat Jesus Is Coming Back, complete with a joyful choir backing him up. However, arguably, Feliz really shines on understated ballads like Wounds that make excellent use of piano and string arrangements. It’s here that Feliz paints a picture of a loving God and his endless grace, as he sings,

I’ve seen the light come in
To my darkest rooms
I can tell you, friend
That His love heals wounds

Elsewhere, Glorify shows off his funkier R&B side, again making superb use of choirs and his passion for bold declarations like,

Seen too much to ever doubt it
Feels so good, I wanna shout it
Yeah, when I really think about it
All I wanna do, all I wanna do is
Glorify your name

While Feliz’s latest offering isn’t necessarily a huge leap forward for the genre or his past work, it remains a bold statement of faith. And if you ever felt like worship in church should be more fun, throw on some Say It.
