Theme of the Week: Don’t Go through Life Alone

Bible Verse: Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19

Scripture Reading: Matthew 18:19, Psalm 133:1-3, Philippians 1:27-28

Unity meant so much to Jesus. In John 17:21a Jesus prayed “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you.” I love that this prayer of Jesus was written down by John the Apostle to remind us what was important to Jesus; that we would be one.

John also records Jesus saying that we should love one another. In John 13:35, Jesus mentions “by this, all people will know that you are my disciples if you have a love for one another.” It’s a witness to our world when we are one and showing love to each other. There are so many great reasons to be unified!

Our scripture verse today reminds us of yet another reason to be in unity. In Matthew 18:19, Jesus says, “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” Faith is increased and power is released when we believe together. Agreement in faith and prayer is so important.

Many times in my life, I have needed others to believe with me in prayer when my faith was being stretched. There is something powerful about having someone pull with you in the same direction when it comes to our faith.

What needs do you have that could use partners to join with you in faith and prayer? Will you reach out to someone today, asking them to pray? Take the risk and share your need with someone and then see what God will do!
