Theme of the Week: Rebuilding Intimacy

As we wrap up this week’s devotional series on intimacy, I want to remind you of where this started. Intimacy is “into-me-see.” It is about being seen, known, and understood. A two-way street between you and the living God.
It will not always be an easy ride, in fact, often it will be costly and inconvenient.
But it is worth it every single time.
Very few things are promised to us in this life. There will be troubles. Hard times will come. Things won’t always go according to plan. You and I both need something we can anchor to that will ensure stability no matter the season.
Intimacy with God is the answer.
To recap, we talked about:

Jesus First: True intimacy begins and ends with Jesus. He has made Himself readily available for us to experience deep, meaningful connection that centers around our inner life.

The Risk of Intimacy: Fear usually stops men from pursuing intimacy with Jesus. We must count the cost and decide if we are willing to confront our fears head on so we can experience the glorious reward of intimacy with God.

The Reward of Intimacy: There is no greater reward on this planet than becoming more like the living God. The only way to experience this is to experience Him in a fluid, intimate relationship.

Practical Intimacy: The purpose of spiritual disciplines is to build intimacy. With this intent, the disciplines are no longer a task on our to-do list, but an integrated and essential component of our spiritual lives.

The Ball Is In Your Court: Jesus is ready to have a thriving and intimate relationship with you! There is no deficiency on his end. The onus is on you to take charge and begin opening up your heart to God.
It is likely that if you are experiencing a roadblock in your spiritual life, the answer can be found in intimacy. I urge you to take what we’ve discussed this week, put it into practice immediately, and pursue intimacy with Him like never before. I’m cheering you on as you do.
