Just Go!

Theme of the Week: Living Your Legacy

Bible Verse: The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” Genesis 12:1

Scripture Reading: Genesis 12:1-20

Imagine the first time God spoke to you He told you to leave everything and everyone you know. That’s one thing. Suppose he said go and I’m not telling you where until later. Welcome to Abram’s first encounter with God.

“Go” is probably the most powerful word in the scripture. Abram was promised great blessings if he would just simply go. To Abram’s credit in verse 4 it says, “So Abram left, as the Lord had told him.”

If you cry out to God for a legacy, He may actually respond. He can tell you amazing things about how He wants to bless you but you have to be willing to go.

I am a psychologist and I work with sex addicts. In the 12 steps of recovery, there are two steps that ask you to be willing to do something and the following step is to do it.

As a Christian man, your heart really must be willing, before God can release you into your legacy. You may not have to leave your home or family or even go into the ministry. You do, however, have to be willing to do anything you’re asked. It’s like you bring a blank check to God and say wherever to whatever. I am yours, lock, stock and barrel. That kind of check is the only check He can use.

Pray out loud, Lord, I am willing… no matter what.
