Theme of the Week: Your Mind

Bible Verse: “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 ESV

Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 1:23-25

Let’s be honest. If you’ve been a Christian for a while, it’s easy to get complacent and not read the Bible as much as you used to.

We may have various reasons, but I think one big reason is familiarity, and we know what that breeds. We don’t watch the same movie over and over, so why would we want to read the Bible over and over? We know how the stories go, and we know how they end. It’s hard to get motivated to read passages of Scripture when we know the verses and stories inside out.

But in today’s video devotional, I want to share some compelling reasons why we should turn to God’s word regularly, even though we already know the plot.
