Our Response: Caring is Worship

In Daily Devotional by Paul Fraser

Theme of the Week: Being Good Stewards of Creation

Bible Verse: The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalms 19:1 NIV

Scripture Reading: Psalm 19:1, Job 12:7-10, Psalm 148:1-14

Well, if you have stayed with us all week, I do thank you! It’s not a topic we as men typically like to engage, but I feel it’s important, especially as we think about good stewardship in every area of our lives.

God is good. He owns everything; He sustains everything; He cares about His creation, so we must as well…all good things! One more response that I think is important for us, as we consider all the things we have journeyed with this week, is to be worshippers.

We don’t worship creation, obviously. But we do worship the One who created it. The Bible says that all creation focuses us on God. Creation speaks of God’s goodness, creativity, beauty, power and ownership.

If our focus is turned to God, how can it not turn into thanksgiving, praise and worship? Looking at all of creation reminds us that He is in control of everything. Even when we hear of new discoveries in science, they continue to point to the Creator. We think of how God is revealing Himself to people all over the world as “the Heavens declare the Glory of God and the skies proclaim the work of His hands”. What an incredible God we have, and He made this creation for us to enjoy!

Yes, our response to God’s goodness should be good stewardship but it should also pull our hearts and minds to worship. Take a few moments to thank Him!
