Theme of the Week: Stand Strong
Bible Verse: For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” Isaiah 30:15 ESV
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 30:15-18, 2 Corinthians 12:9, 2 Peter 1:3
As men, we often feel challenged to prove our worth to the people around us, whether it’s at home, at work, or on the basketball court with our friends. But with all the demands on our time, energy, and resources—not to mention our relationships—we can feel weak, overwhelmed, and exhausted.
Thankfully, God never intended for us to do it alone, in our own power. He designed us to draw our strength and direction from Him and to find encouragement and inspiration in community with our families and with other men.
In fact, God tells us, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9, HCSB).
This week of devotions is an invitation for you to spend a few minutes each day in quiet conversation with God—whether it’s first thing in the morning, during your lunch break, or just before bed. God designed us to function best (and be strongest) when we regularly take time to connect with Him through His Word and in prayer.
As God told the Israelites, “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength” (Isaiah 30:15). This devotional can be your means of connecting with God for a few minutes each day throughout this week. It will also serve as a daily reminder that all our strength comes from God, and that He uses His strength to work through the weakness of our lives to accomplish His purpose and plan on earth.
Share this video and resources with your friends. If you have not subscribed to our daily devotionals, you can do so here. Our vision is to see every man become, grow, and live as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Our desire is for men to fully embrace their relationship with God and to walk in the strength of His love, mercy, and grace. For “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His glory and goodness” (2 Peter 1:3, HCSB).
