How does one simply become a ninja? Martial Arts? Climbing an ancient mountain in Japan?
For Daniel Gil, it was a little different. While working towards a ministry degree, he found a job at a Ninja Warrior training gym, teaching others how to do a sport he had only recently learned about. He soon developed a burning desire, to get on the American Ninja Warrior TV show and win.
But after two years of applying and being rejected from the show, Daniel was running out of options. He chose to trust God, and wait outside the filming studio, dehydrated in the scorching Nevada sun, for the slim chance they would take him as a walk-on competitor. They saw him. They saw his hair. And the rest is history.
Since then Daniel has been to the ANW finals twice, and taken home one title. His priority has always been to use his platform on the show to demonstrate God’s love to others. Even when he falls, loses a challenge, or finds himself 3 seconds too late to win a million dollars, he chooses to praise God.
Yes, the path to becoming a ninja isn’t straightforward.
