God’s Plan is Better Than Your Plan

In Daily Devotional by Paul Fraser

Theme of the Week: God’s Plan in Four Verbs

Bible Verse: I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2 ESV

Scripture Reading: Romans 8:5, Isaiah 55:8-9, Romans 12:1-2

I hope this week’s devotionals have encouraged you and perhaps helped you understand how God sometimes works. While these four verbs don’t always follow a linear timeline, they may help serve as reminders of what God wants to do in you, and for you, on your journey with Him.

I have seen God cycle through this process in my life over and over and over. He chooses me for an assignment, calls me there for a season, takes me by the hand in it, and makes me a wiser, stronger, more humble leader. Then my next season comes along, and God does it all again.

Here are some questions that will help you process this week’s devotionals.

Choose: Do you believe that God has a unique plan for your life?

Called: What do you think God is calling you to do in this season? Do you feel overlooked and inadequate to do the will of God? Can you believe He hasn’t forgotten about you?

Take: Will you let God lead you? Will you trust Him with your future?

Make: What is God building in your life? How is God shaping your character?

Prayer: God, I know you chose me and called me and that You’re going to take me and make me into the man of God I need to be. Help me to place my whole trust in you today because your plan is better than my plan. Amen.
