Theme of the Week: Climbing the Mountain of Manhood
Bible Verse: Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. Genesis 5:24
Scripture Reading: Philippians 3:12-14, Psalm 20:4, Genesis 5:22-24
The summit of manhood is “pursuing God passionately”. A man is never stronger than when he passionately pursues his Creator. Biblical manhood can’t be achieved without radical commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
My stake is in the ground, the line is drawn in the sand, and I will die on this hill. You will never reach the summit of manhood, the apex of what it means to be a man, without radical devotion to your Creator. If you haven’t already, give your life right now to the Creator of the Universe! He’ll take you on the ride of your life!
Yes, you can be a man without Jesus. It would be ludicrous to think otherwise. You can be a good man without Jesus. You might even become a great man without Jesus. Let’s be honest with each other for a moment. We both know a myriad of men who refuse to attend church or
claim faith in Jesus —who are far better men than many who do. We see it all the time.
In fact, we’ve all known or read about some of those types of guys who not only attended churches but also pastored them! Let’s not be so naïve as to disregard this sad and embarrassing truth. But hear me when I say this. You will never be the best version of you without radical surrender to the God who made you.
Follow the simple logic. How will you ever become the best version of you without passionate devotion to the One who made you? Who else can lead you on the elusive path to your best self?
Only Jesus – He willingly died the most horrible of deaths so you could live true life now. Now it’s your turn to reciprocate with your life. Jesus will make you a stronger man than you ever imagined! He did it for me, and he’ll do it for you.
