Can Men Find True Friendship? | Young Man’s Podcast

In Culture, Podcast by Jordan Harnum

In a recent study done by the Survey Centre on American Life, men are experiencing a male-friendship recession. Their study found that “the percentage of men with at least six close friends fell by half since 1990, from 55 percent to 27 percent.”

The study also discovered that the percentage of men without any close friends jumped from 3 percent to 15 percent. The question that must be answered is ‘why is this happening and how can we turn it around?’.

Is it possible to experience true friendship as a man? What are some of the barriers that prevent men from going beyond surface-level relationships and into greater community? Jordan and Andrew discuss all this and more on the latest episode of the Impactus Young Man’s Podcast.
