Jiu Jitsu, Jesus & Growing as a Man

In Culture, Podcast by Jordan Harnum

Seemingly more than ever, young men are enrolling in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). What is it about it that is drawing young men in droves and what can the Church learn from it?

Self discipline?
Community?
Competition?

On this episode of the Impactus Young Man’s Podcast, Jordan chats with JM Smith from The Disciple Dojo. JM is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and leader of a Refugee Jiu Jitsu.

Together, they discuss how young men are hungry to grow, and why so many men are drawn to BJJ in particular.

Jordan shares his own story of how joining a BJJ gym served as a helpful tool in growing as a Christian man. As well, Jordan unpacks how it helped him understand the type of community that helps men grow exponentially, and what important principles the Church could learn from the experience.
