Rest: The Gift We Don’t Want!

In Daily Devotional, Life Issues, Work by Darryl Dash

Theme of the Week: Rest-Work Balance

Bible Verse: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Exodus 20:8 ESV

Scripture Reading: 2 Peter 1:3-15

Rest is a divine pattern that goes all the way back to creation. God included it in the Ten Commandments. And yet we struggle with rest!

We wonder if the command still applies to us today. Not only that, but it’s hard to rest in our demanding, busy world. Deep inside, something within us resists the idea of rest.

This week, I want to look at these issues with you. I also want to give you some practical tips as we prepare to build a rhythm of work and rest in our lives.

Rest and Sabbath are gifts from God, gifts that we all need.
